Activation emails usually only take a couple of minutes to be delivered, but unfortunately congestion on the internet or in the mail servers at either end, can sometimes prolong the wait by several hours.
Your email provider's junk or spam filters can sometimes inadvertently move valid email to your junk/spam folder, so it's worth checking they haven't been moved there by mistake.
